Processing and interpretation of seismic information

Processing and interpretation of seismic information is carried out in the specialized “Technological Center” of the SGE “Ukrgeofizika” as well as in separate subdivisions of the enterprise.

The enterprise meets the most advanced requirements for service companies and ensures the qualitative performance of the full range of geological, geophysical and industrial research. It has all the necessary technical, intellectual and material resources for standard and detailed processing as well as interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data derived on land, at sea and in transition zones and adheres to standards of the world practice.

Processing and interpretation of seismic data is performed on multiprocessor computing stations using modern software as well as using cluster technologies. The enterprise constantly develops the latest achievements of IT-technologies.

2D/3D seismic information is processed using a sequence of procedures agreed upon with the customer and involving modern processing algorithms.

In addition to the standard processing technique, more sophisticated technologies are implemented:

• Calculation of apriori static corrections for the first inputs
• Processing of regional profiles
• Processing with amplitude preservation
• Wide azimuth data processing
• Construction of deep-speed models
• Execution of migration to summation
• Calculation of AVO attributes
• 5D - interpolation of seismic information
The enterprise executes a large amount of re-processing of archival seismic information with the use of modern procedures.

The enterprise performs a comprehensive interpretation of all available geological and geophysical information which ensures an effective definition of the main characteristics of the objects under study. The comprehensive interpretation includes:

• Scanning and digitization of the geophysical well logging data
• Lithological distribution and correlation of the geological section of wells. Determination of component composition and construction of geoacoustic models in wells
• Integration of the geophysical well logging data with seismic data using modelling of synthetic seismograms
• Analysis of the received seismic wave field
• Execution of high-speed analysis and construction of high-speed models
• Creation of a bulk structural and tectonic model
• Analysis of seismic attributes
• Forecasting geological section using seismostratigraphic analysis methods
• Seismic inversion
